Useful storage space made possible by the creative reconstruction of a fireplace mantel.

Above: The tiny Library has the illusion of more space partly because the left wall is covered in trompe-l’oeil hand-painted wallpaper by Deborah Bowness from the UK.

Above: The black and white toile wallpaper in this bedroom is from ebay. Simple cotton bed linen is trimmed with GrosGrain ribbon, with pillowcases made from old french tea towels.

What a simply brilliant take on this traditional library. Its white walls, brought to life with the rich, dark contrasting color of chocolate brown and white built-in shelving over the top.
This New York brownstone is such an open, airy space. I love the stark contrast between the wooden furnishings and exposed beam ceilings, along with the white walls and painted wide plank floors. The little guest loft accessible from the ladder in the dining/living room is also an awesome idea.
This inviting bungalow owes most of it’s charm to the great accessories that accentuate the shelves and walls. The organization and lack of clutter in this home directs your interest and attention to the style permitted throughout each room. The sun streaming through the large windows and the simple coat of bright white paint (that covers most of the walls in the house) keeps a cheerful atmosphere.
Another apartmenttherapy find.
This would be just about perfect right now…
